Screw you, 8bit; Waldo is awesome.

I remember for one birthday, when I was like, 7, I got a personalized Where's Waldo book. Had my name all through the story and everything.

I remember bringing it to school and being like "I've talked to Waldo before, see? So fuck you guys."

I still have the book too. I'll show you one of these days.

Waldo had a story?

I didn't even catch that part.

I like the references to "Waldo" or "Wally" in The Simpsons. I can think of 2, but there might be more. The first one is when Bart picks up a "Where's Wally?" book. He opens up the first page and there is simply a page filled picture of Wally on a plain white background. And Bart says:

"Gee, they're not really trying hard, are they?"

Hahaha. And the second reference is my favourite because it's so subtle. I'm sure heaps of people have missed it. It's the episode where a meteor is predicted to hit Springfield, and everyone in town knocks on the concrete bunker door of Ned Flanders (okaley dokaley) and asks if they could be accomodated in his shelter. Begrudgingly he says yes, and everyone pours into the shelter. You see the very first animation of everyone squashed into this small bomb shelter, and in the top left hand corner is Wally.
