Some of you probably know that I'm a freelance writer who does game design. As such, I like to share links and start discussions about some of the stuff I've worked on. Obviously, free advertising is good; the more sales for the publisher, the more likely I am to get extra work. But even putting that aside, I love to read talks about my creations, because it provides a wonderful tool to improve my craft. I can learn what people liked and what they didn't like. Lots of eyes help find errors, so I can try to avoid them in the future. And, well... I just like talking about gaming stuff.
One of the publishers I've worked with recently is Kobold Quarterly. Wolfgang Baur started up the quarterly magazine two years ago when WotC decided to kill off the print copies of Dragon and Dungeon. In my opinion, the magazine has improved with each issue, and the quality is outstanding. Recently, I designed a bunch of monsters with a "modern myth" theme, and Wolfgang ran them on his site. They're free to whoever wants to grab 'em. After I started, a few other freelancers also submitted some cool stuff - some in the "modern myth" category, and others just cool monsters. Here's the whole list. If you have any comments, I'd love to hear 'em. If you play D&D or d20 Modern and use any, I absolutely would love to hear about that!
Le Nain Rouge, by me
The Jersey Devil, by me (this is the article that started it all, actually. For whatever reason, I was seriously obsessing over the Jersey Devil. On a whim, I e-mailed Wolfgang (he's also a friend of mine) to see if he'd have interest in d20 Modern stuff for the magazine. That simple e-mail turned into a feature column on the website. Go figure.)
Spring-Heeled Jack, by my friend Josh Stevens
Sknned Tom, by me
The Lyeflesh Zombie, by Josh
Jack the Ripper, by me
The Simurgh, by Scott Gable
The Wendigo, by me
The Huldra, by Dan Voyce
Drop Bear, by me
Ia’Affrat the Insatiable, by my friend Clinton Boomer
The Lambton Worm, by Dan Voyce
La Llorona, by me
Green Children of Woolpt, by me
A new monster goes up on the site every Monday. Some of the new ones will be from me, as Wolfgang has a few more I wrote sitting in his queue. And of course, others will come from a variety of other writers. All in all, though, they all share one great quality -- they're free!

In addition to those, Wolfgang has also started a series of articles on Tuesdays for traps. They seem to be a less popular, and so there isn't a new one every Tuesday. But there's some very cool stuff out there, and they're usable in both D&D as well as d20 Modern. (and probably other d20 systems, too) For those who never have enough traps, here's the existing articles:
The Price of Greed, by Josh
Whip Traps, by my friend Adam Daigle
Mantraps, by Adam
Trapped Items, by Adam
The Xmas Files, by Dan
If you play, I hope there's something useful for you in a couple of those links.
