I was sitting in class today talking to this guy about certain stuff, and one thing or another video games came up, and I was talking about how the PS2 was the greatest console of it's generation, and how the PS3 is over priced for what it is (Blu-Ray player). Granted, the Blu-Ray discs hold much more game info, but besides the point: I see it as losing potential Sony customers.

That aside, she joins into the conversation, and it went pretty well. I told her I was shocked really because I never pictured her as a gamer, and she thought that I thought video games is a man's game. Truth is really, it sort of is, like Metal, a guy's thing. But like Metal, chicks are also into the mix when it comes to video games. She's into World Of Warcraft, which depending on what side you're on, I thought that was pretty cool. Now, this isn't my first time noticing a gamer chick, credit goes to T-Pain on that. But besides that, I thought it's pretty interesting seeing gamer chicks take interest in what us guys do, at least the chicks that do.

With that said, here's my question: what is your reaction or thoughts about gamer chicks?

Gamer chicks are cool. That's cool that you met one. It's hard to find a good looking one though.

Recently I discovered that there is in fact a God. This really good looking chick who I thought would never even talk to me was sitting next to me a month ago in my Algebra class. She saw me drawing a KING DIAMOND logo in my notebook and said "oh my god! You like the King too?" I was stunned. I know only three other people that are King fans and those are the guys in my band. That was cool.

But yeah, gamer chicks are cool. A friend of mine who has been in our social group for years is a big gamer and she's really cool.

I don't go by looks too much. She's plain looking, but not too plain looking that it would turn me off. She also is a good debater in my political science class, so it's mentally stimulating in a good way.

That can mean so much more. I've seen some hot chicks as dumb as a doornail. I won't lie and say I only go for personality, because like many humans, I am drawn to good looks. However, personality is more important in the long run. I value my intelligence (plus I wear these cool shoes that give me +20 speechcraft ;) ) so it's great to have someone of the opposite sex to hold a conversation with. It's good that you have found someone that you can hold a great conversation with.

Have you gamed with her yet?

I know plenty of gamer chicks online, they're generally a lot more fun to talk with than the girls I happen to know irl...
Besides, I got a gamer gf too :D

A bunch of my friends are gamer girls (In fact, my playgroup is 3:1 girls to guys.), and even though they mostly lose, occasionally they pull off some prety sweet moves ( we mostly play Halo 3 or Magic, occasionally D&D)

and a bunch of them are into good music. Not heavy enough for my taste, but tolerable.

I WISH I had a gamer girlfriend. One I've got thinks they're stupid. And boy does she hate Immortal. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Indeed. Hate to sound like a dick but I got rid of her because of this: "Why aren't you talking to me? You're only at stupid band practice-it can't be THAT important." RIGHT.

Bros before hos. You had prior commitments before being with her. That's what I think anyway.

So long as she's not just into casual stuff, sure. If she's initially into casual stuff, but moves into mainstream, then it's all good. Seriously, what sounds better: "I play video games, like Bejeweled." or "The gravity gun in Half Life 2 was too much fun."

You will have to wait until I get my computer back :P. Good news is it's like the only thing I have to play ATM, so I will be playing it a lot. Also on a side note can't wait for Diablo 3 :whaaat:
