For eg, for all those people on this forum that are not religious and have no problems with artists such as Behemoth, Marilyn Manson etc because they are anti religion. Would they truly feel comfortable listening to some Christian rock/metal bands? Be honest now, I don't think they really would. The very fact that they are Christian bands I believe would deep down irritate them.

First Off, I wouldnt say Im an Atheist, but Im by no means religious. I feel what me and god need to say to eachother can be said without bringing other humans in on the mix.

Mychildren, Mybride is a Christian hardcore band, and they have some of the most brutal beatdowns I have ever heard.

So long as the music can overcome my dislike for their stance on whatever it is they're standing for, I can run with it. I tend to hate bands getting into politics and crap, or "the government is wrong and see all these things they did" stuff from Rage Against the Machine, or political-ish videos like Incubus's "Megalomaniac" and System of a Down's "Boom!". But, when stuff like RAtM"s cover of "Renegades of Funk", Incubus's "Anna Molly" and SoaD's older stuff pops up, I can forgive them.

I just tend to dislike blatant, in-your-face political crap.

I'm actually a fairly religious person, but I have no qualms about listening to stuff like Burzum and Mayhem. It's basically the same view I have on violent video games/movies: Playing/watching them isn't going to make me go out and kill someone. Likewise, listening to Burzum isn't going to make me go burn a church (or worse).

Maybe a little oversimplified, but that's my view on the issue.

The only thing that matters is if the tunes are good. I can care less what bands think/believe/don't believe/like/dislike. If I like their music that's all that matters.

Tbh, I've been doing some listening, and I've grown to like quite a few Christian metal bands. There's a deathcore band I don't mind called Whitechapel... Living_dead_beat and DeathUnlimited are big fans of them. And I've taken a liking to Christian Black Metal (you heard me correctly) bands like Antestor and Horde.

So I dunno about others, but I have no qualms about listening to Christian bands. The music is paramount for me.

Yeah I love Whitechapel and I do like other christian bands such as The Devil Wears Prada and As I lay dying. I don't have a problem with listening to them, however if the lyrics were too preachy I might have a problem then. The music is far more important to me then the lyrics.
