I've definitely felt better

I'll go with the trend and blame Matt as well.

Pasted from my DeviantART journal or my post from MTGD...

Quote:
So anyways, this week is basically the English Language Days at my school. My class had the task of organizing it. It officially lasts from Tuesday to Thursday but we actually had 2 of 4 openings on Monday too, for the smaller age groups. And the band I'm in also performed for the 2nd age group, it was like our main rehearsal or something (explanation: I was picked into a band that was supposed to play a short medley of famous songs that would last about 8 minutes and I was basically picked cause I was the only one in my class that plays bass). The songs were Iron Man by Black Sabbath, Back in Black by AC/DC, Good Times Bad Times by Led Zeppelin, the Rocky themesong and we had also planned Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers but we thought that might make it a bit too long so we left it out (too bad, I really liked playing the chorus part for that)

Ohh yeah, the general setup of the openings was that we'd do the Haka (which is a New Zealand ritualistic dance first used by the Maoris and nowadays used also by the New Zealand national Rugby team before matches to intimidate the opponent. And we did it wearing just a cloth around our lower half), introduce the event, play the US and UK national anthems, play the medley and sing our class song (which was Karma Chameleon by Culture Club)

Anyways, on Tuesday we had the older age groups (classes 7-9 and 10-12) and there we really got a nice feedback. After the band had performed for the first age group, we were told by our class teacher that the management wanted the musical piece cut down to 3 minutes but everyone else told us to still play in full and so we did. I had played the first time basically behind the curtain on stage cause I didn't want to be seen by anybody (there were like 300 people in the room at each time) but everybody told me to GTFO FROM BEHIND THAT CURTAIN and told me that I didn't suck at playing (still don't really believe them). So both the times we got a really big applause for both the band thing and the class song (which was obviously sung by the entire class, some even danced in front). And after that, the band members were called to the cabinet of the teacher responsible for organizing events and stuff and she made us an offer to participate in this school project in Germany where we'd play background music or something for this student movie tribute thingy (the theme for the movie is James Bond). But when I got home and told my parents about it, they said I can't go cause we wouldn't have the money for it and I felt like dieing again (and that was sorta mixed with being really fucking pissed off/disappointed at life again). But today I got to school again and found out that the others might not be going either so I guess it isn't that much of a loss...

Ohh yeah, from the stuff happening today, I'd bring out a lecture on British comedy and a huge word explanation game played by the 10th-12th classes (mine was excluded though since we organized it and all and that might have been taken as cheating or whatever) and quite a few lulz were had there.

And we even got our own dresscode during the event. Boys wear the jacket part of the tuxedo and bermuda shorts (those are shorts that go below the knee) because apparently it's like a traditional/national/whatever way to dress in the Bahamas or Jamaica or somewhere like that, girls wear a stereotypical schoolgirl uniform.

But yeah, at least got something interesting to do for once.

I AM FUCKING HYPER!
It was a bad fucking idea to have coffee at 6pm!

Also, I'm thinking of lugging my gear out to a friend for a jam session, and going to the city to donate blood before the year is quite over
