Im not a fan of the new Pokemon. the games themselves are fine, I just dont like the new monsters.

I'd have to agree with DarkDragon here. Despite Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Diamond/Pearl being excellent games, I can't say I'm as big of a fan of the new Pokemon as I am the old ones. They just don't seem as... memorable to me.

Primarily why half of my team consists of ones from the original 150.

They are memorable to you because you started with them. I remember more of the RSE Pokemon than the GSC Pokemon. I doubt this really has to do with the Pokemon themselves, but just the amount of play that you have around them. Of course someone will remember something they played with for 99 hours compared to something that they glanced over for a minute.

Competitively, they aren't. The games themselves is entirely subjective. However, in saying which is the best competitively, it has little to do with subjectivity.

Id have to say its because they were new, and some of them were downright weird. the ones Ive seen from D/P are all too animal like.

yea, but the ratio of Animal/batshit insane was closer than it is now.

RBY: 64 normal 87 other = 42%
DP: 31 normal 76 other = 29%

There is more "batshit insane" ones than direct animal clones now.
